History
Children of Abraham ministry was founded in 1997, because of Rev. Dr. Bassam Chedid's burning desire to communicate the saving message of Christ to a largely unevangelized Arabic community in North America and the 10/40 Window.

Though Dr. Chedid is unable to return to his homeland in the Middle East for ministry, but God has confirmed His call to serve among several millions of Arabs and Muslims here in North America and in the 10/40 Window. Dr. Chedid grew up in a Christian home in the Biblical land of Bashan-a fertile tableland northeast of the Sea of Galilee and about 150 miles south of the oldest city in the world, Damascus. In God’s providence, the same Gospel that spread from Jerusalem, Damascus and Antioch into the whole ancient world, was introduced to his family two thousand years later via a faithful missionary who came to his homeland from the United States.

Dr. Chedid received his B.A. from Simpson College-Redding California. He served as Pastor in California from 1981-85 including ministry among Arabs and Muslims. From 1985-1989, he continued to minister to Arabs and Muslim. He received his Master of Theology from Reformed Theological Seminary in 1993 and His doctorate degree in 1997. He has written numerous articles in Arabic publications and engaged in Radio broadcasting nationally and internationally. He is the founder and president of Children Of Abraham ministry and the editor of The Morning Star magazine. His new book on Islam is due for publication soon. He has traveled much speaking in churches and mission conferences across the nation. He is also visiting professor at Reformed Theological Seminary and an adjunct faculty at Belhaven College, where he teaches courses on Islam.
